FAQ
- What board games can you play against the computer online?
- Chinese chess, five-in-a-row, disc flipping and ludo, plus territory games on a grid. All of them are turn-based and won by calculation, and all of them take about a minute to learn.
- How hard is the computer opponent in board games?
- Difficulty maps directly to how many moves ahead it looks. The low setting only answers the position in front of it; the high setting reads your reply and plans around it. Drop the level to drill openings across a lot of quick games, raise it when you want the pressure back.
- Can you take back a move when playing the computer?
- Yes, takebacks and a full move-by-move replay are both there. The reason to play a machine is to find out which move lost the game, so there is no point attaching a penalty to looking.
- How do you get better at five in a row?
- Build two open threats at once — a single one is always blockable. Watch for shapes that create a four and a three on the same move, and count your opponent's threats before you extend your own. Defence first at high difficulty; the computer will punish a greedy row.
